To have a good geologic study is critical for the suitable execution of a project. In relationship
with the geology it will be chosen the more suitable system of perforation, with EPB shield, mixshield,
rock shield or open shield.
Also geology defines the type of cuting wheel to install in the TBM, the percentage of opening, the type
of cuting equipment, discs, picks, buckets, as well as the durability of the tools to define the places
of replacment of cutting tools.
